About Xeomin

‍Xeomin® is a newly innovated product with the potential to be an effective treatment for patients suffering from different conditions. It utilizes precision manufacturing processes that remove any proteins other than its therapeutic component, which studies show may help ensure safety and efficacy in patients’ lives.

Xeomin is a highly effective solution to the common problem of dynamic facial wrinkles. It works by weakening muscles that insert onto the skin’s surface, causing visible lines and wrinkles to flatten out over time.

“I recently had an Xeomin treatment at the LA location with the injector Anni. Anni took her time and listened to my concerns about not wanting to be too “frozen” and even the possibility of improving the balance of my eyebrows. I am thrilled with the natural result and how well she delivered the improvement I was hoping for. The clinic is beautiful and the staff is top-notch.”

Xeomin FAQs

  • What is Xeomin?

XEOMIN is a prescription medicine that is injected into muscles and used to improve the look of moderate to severe frown lines between the eyebrows (glabellar lines) in adults for a short period of time (temporary).

  • How Does Xeomin Work?

Xeomin is a highly effective solution to the common problem of dynamic facial wrinkles. It works by weakening muscles that insert onto the skin’s surface, causing visible lines and wrinkles to flatten out over time.

  • How Much Does Xeomin Cost?

The average cost range for Xeomin is between $100 and $500 and is directly affected by the number of units required for your treatment, your unique anatomy, and the area you wish to treat.

  • How Long Does Xeomin Last?

The treatment can last between three and six months. The longevity is similar to other treatments like Botox, so it may be worth returning for another session halfway through the effectiveness time if you are satisfied but not fully comfortable.

  • What is The Difference Between Xeomin and Botox?

Botox and Xeomin are both popular names for botulinum toxin. While Botox includes several proteins, Xeomin is designed to contain just the active ingredient: a “naked” form of botulinum toxin without any protein additives. This means that when you use it on your skin, there’s no risk of developing an allergy or sensitization reaction like those seen with other injectable products containing proteins. The only difference between them is if you need something quick-acting (Xeonin), then go with this option – but consider how soon after injection it will start working versus waiting up to 2 weeks for Botox!

  • Does Botox or Xeomin Last Longer?

Xeomin and Botox Botox are two of the most popular treatments for cosmetic purposes. Xeomin is a lot more convenient than plastic surgery, as it can be administered in your doctor’s office or at home. One study found that after ten weeks, 82% of people who used Xeomin still had no wrinkles on their forehead compared to only 68% with Botox!

  • Which is Better Botox, Dysport, or Xeomin?

Dysport is the go-to for those who want fast results, requiring fewer units than Botox. Dysport can treat various conditions, including wrinkles around one’s forehead or eyes, crow’s feet (fine lines that form between your eyebrows), frown lines on either side of the mouth, and excess sweating from underarms or palms.

Dysport provides faster treatment time with fewer treatments than Xeomin, which needs more injections at intervals for two weeks before achieving full effect. For those looking for quick relief without downtime, this would provide them with just what they are after.

  • Can Xeomin be Used for Crow's Feet?

Versatile. The primary use of Xeomin is for treating glabellar lines or vertical lines that form between your eyebrows. Still, it also proves to be just as effective when used on wrinkles around the eye area, like crow’s feet, and fine line treatments in other areas, such as mouth wrinkles.

  • Who Should Not Use Xeomin?

XEOMIN® is a prescription medicine that is injected into muscles and used to improve the look of moderate to severe frown lines between the eyebrows (glabellar lines) in adults for a short period of time (temporary).

It is not known if XEOMIN is safe and effective in children under 18 years of age.

Do not use XEOMIN® if you are allergic to XEOMIN® or any of the ingredients in XEOMIN® (see the end of this Guide for a list of ingredients in XEOMIN®, had an allergic reaction to any other botulinum toxin products such as rimabotulinumtoxinB (MYOBLOC®), onabotulinumtoxinA (BOTOX®, BOTOX® COSMETIC), or abobotulinumtoxinA (DYSPORT®) or have a skin infection at the planned injection site.

  • What Should I Tell My Doctor Before Getting Xeomin?

Before receiving XEOMIN®, tell your doctor about all of your medical conditions, including if you:

    • Have a disease that affects your muscles and nerves (such as amyotrophic lateral sclerosis [ALS or Lou Gehrig’s disease], myasthenia gravis or Lambert-Eaton syndrome)
    • have had any side effects from any other botulinum toxin in the past
    • Have a breathing problem such as asthma or emphysema
    • Have a history of swallowing problems or inhaling food or fluid into your lungs (aspiration)
    • have bleeding problems
    • Have drooping eyelids
    • Have plans to have surgery
    • have had surgery on your face
    • Are you pregnant or plan to become pregnant? It is not known if XEOMIN® can harm your unborn baby.
    • Are you breastfeeding or planning to breastfeed? It is not known if XEOMIN® passes into breast milk.

Tell your doctor about all your medicines, including prescription and over-the-counter medicines, vitamins, and herbal supplements. Talk to your doctor before you take any new medicines after you receive XEOMIN.

Using XEOMIN with certain other medicines may cause serious side effects. Do not start any new medicines until you have told your doctor that you have received XEOMIN in the past.

    Tell your doctor if you:

    • Have received any other botulinum toxin product in the last four months
    • Have received injections of botulinum toxin such as rimabotulinumtoxinB (MYOBLOC®), onabotulinumtoxinA (BOTOX®, BOTOX® COSMETIC) and abobotulinumtoxinA (DYSPORT®) in the past. Be sure your doctor knows exactly which product you received. The dose of XEOMIN® may be different from other botulinum toxin products that you have received.
    • Have recently received an antibiotic by injection
    • take muscle relaxants
    • Take an allergy or cold medicine
    • Take a sleep medicine

Ask your doctor if you are unsure if your medicine is listed above.

Know the medicines you take. Keep a list of your medicines with you to show your doctor and pharmacist each time you get a new medicine.

  • What Should I DO Before My Xeomin Treatment?

To help prevent the risk of excessive bruising following Botox injections, please avoid the following at least 3-5 days before treatment: Avoid NSAIDs, blood thinning vitamins, and alcohol can prevent hematomas or contusions as well as speed healing time. However, if you are taking anticoagulant therapy prescribed by your MD for any medical conditions, please continue. FYI- Many medications and vitamins are considered blood thinning.

  • What Should I DO After My Xeomin Treatment?

After you receive your Botox treatment, these guidelines may help you recover quickly:

    • Bruising: This may last a couple of days to weeks. Arnika Forte contains bromelain, which helps decrease the duration and severity of bruising time.
    • Do not lie down for 3-4 hours following treatment.
    • Keep your head in a neutral position for the rest of the day without bending the head forward or down. By following these precautionary measures, you will minimize the occurrence of ptosis (droopy eyelids) and less-than-optimal outcomes.
    • Facial exercises (squint/frown/smile) are recommended in the treated area for one hour after injection.
    • Avoid manipulating the treated area for the rest of the day, such as using a Clarisonic brush, scrubbing, rubbing, or pressing the treated areas.
    • No exercise for 24-48 hours following treatment. Anything that causes heat or increases blood pressure will likely metabolize the product faster, i.e., hot yoga, pilates, saunas, steam rooms, infrared sauna, high-impact exercise, hyperhidrosis, hypertension, hyperthyroidism, stress, etc.
