Andropause (Male Menopause)

bioidentical hormone replacement therapy

Andropause, also known as male menopause, is the result of significant declines of androgens such as testosterone. Testosterone, a crucial element in making men male, is responsible for many key functions, including sexual function, muscle strength and size, bone strength and much more.

When a man’s level of bioavailable testosterone falls, symptoms such as poor mood, fatigue and low libido typically result. At this point, it is important to get tested to determine whether these signs are a result of normal aging, or are instead markers for abnormally low androgen levels (male hypogonadism).

Should blood tests confirm clinically low levels of testosterone or other other key male hormones, a physician may determine you to be a candidate for testosterone replacement therapy (TRT).
