Cosmelan facial peels are a skin care facial cream that use a combination of different depigmentation agents which act to decrease melanin production by the skin. Melanin is responsible for the darkening of the skin and causes the formation of brown spots due to sun exposure, as well as the formation of Melasma when influenced by hormonal changes.
Advantages of Cosmelan
Cosmelan is a depigmentation treatment which offers many advantages over other therapies.
Compatible with all skin types
Has a rapid and easy depigmentation process.
Cosmelan Facial Peels Can Be Effective for A Number of Skin Conditions
Cosmelan facial peels reliably produces outstanding results by inhibiting an enzyme called tyrosinase, which is involved in the manufacture of melanin – responsible for the darkening of the skin and causing the formation of brown spots due to environmental factors like sun exposure.
Cosmelan Peel Instructions: What to Expect
Before Your Initial Treatment
The most important thing to keep in mind before your first Cosmelan treatment is that it is imperative to avoid any kind of salon treatments for at least one week prior to your first appointment. In addition, utmost care must be taken to protect your skin from sun exposure in the week leading up to your appointment. While sun exposure must also be limited immediately following your treatment, it is equally important to be sun smart prior to the Cosmelan treatment beginning.
Your First Cosmelan Treatment
Your first experience with Cosmelan facial peels will occur at your choice of one of our professional BHRC medical spas. Your skin type will be thoroughly evaluated before your skin is cleansed to remove oil and dead skin cells.
Then comes the exciting part: when the Cosmelan 1 mask is applied, which will be left on for 6 to 10 hours, depending on your skin type. But don’t worry: no matter how luxurious our medical spa centers are, we don’t expect you to wait around for the entire 6 to 10 hours. You’re free to go home, provided you exercise extreme caution to avoid sun exposure while wearing the mask.
After the required amount of time has passed, the Cosmelan 1 mask can be washed off with water.
Continuing Your Treatment with the Cosmelan 2 Maintenance Cream
In this stage, the Cosmelan 2 maintenance cream is applied two or three times per day for two weeks following the initial mask. After this period, the maintenance cream can be applied daily on an ongoing basis for optimal results.
Where Can Cosmelan Be Applied?
Cosmelan facial peel is applied most commonly to the following areas of the body:
Breast and nipple area
Legs and hands.
How Soon Will You See Results?
In most cases, we have achieved great results using Cosmelan within the first week after starting treatment, during which time skin blemishes start to disappear. The biggest influence on results is the color of your skin – the darker the skin, the longer it takes for the spots to disappear. But regardless of your skin tone, your skin will regain its youthful, shiny, and healthy appearance in about 2 to 3 weeks.

Medical Peels: New Skin, New You
At the Beverly Hills Rejuvenation Center, we believe that the beautiful, youthful look should be accessible by everyone. That’s why we offer a comprehensive range of medical grade facial peels. Who is the ideal candidate for a facial peel? People with fair skin and light hair are the best candidates, but patients with other skin pigmentation and hair color can achieve good results as well, with an experienced, qualified practitioner. If you’re unhappy with the appearance of your skin, don’t smoke, and have realistic expectations of what can be achieved, then a medical grade peel could be a great option for you.
Medical peels are a great alternative to laser facials, and are a quick way to remove dead skin cells, fine lines, small scars, freckles, dark spots and/or skin imperfections caused by aging, hormones and the sun. A medical grade peel treatment will generally target your face, neck and chest areas, and can be performed safely by one of our professionally qualified medical estheticians. Medical peels are very effective in renewing the skin’s texture, because medical peels take off unwanted dead skin cells, and force the rejuvenation of new skin, giving you the appearance of tighter, brighter skin.
