NovoTHOR Reduced Inflammation
The NovoTHOR Low Level Laser Therapy (LLLT) whole-body light pod delivers a whole body light therapy treatment known as Photobiomodulation (PBM therapy). This is a drug free, non-invasive treatment method perfect for inducing reduced inflammation, tissue regeneration, and improved cell and tissue repair from injury.
How Does PBM Reduce Inflammation?
Whenever an injury occurs, the mitochondria (the energy generators in our cells) of surrounding cells produce Nitric Oxide (NO) and reduce the production of Adenosine Triphosphate (ATP). This causes oxidative stress which drastically reduces our ability and speed of healing.
LLLT is the light therapy for mitochondria applied to reduce oxidative stress and increase ATP production, resulting in reduced inflammation. By delivering LLLT to the affected cells at the right frequency, the mitochondria activates back to action and increases the production of ADP. The ADP links with free oxygen molecules, breaking the oxidative stress and producing ATP. Again, the LLLT delivered by PBM therapy hastens this oxidation process.
The NovoTHOR pod is carefully calibrated to produce laser light at the correct intensity, density, and wavelength. Once PBM is expertly applied, normal mitochondrial function is restored and cell metabolism improves.
Is PBM Effective for Reduced Inflammation?
There have been more than 4,000 laboratory studies conducted to examine the efficacy of PBM in reducing inflammation, pain, and oxidative stress. In addition, there have been over 400 published randomized controlled trials. PBM is now used in thousands of clinics, hospitals, and elite sports facilities in the US and overseas. The NovoTHOR pod treats the whole body in sessions of 8 to 15 minutes with impressive results in pain reduction, treating fatigue, reducing inflammation, enhancing recovery from bruising, and improving muscle performance.
NovoTHOR PBM Treatment
A typical treatment session lasts 8 to 15 minutes, and depending on the extent of injury, one may need two or more treatments per week. The patient is supplied with safety glasses as an extra precaution to protect the eyes. The client relaxes inside the pod which then delivers LLLT for a whole-body restorative process. For small target areas, the practitioner may use a hand-held LLLT device. Dentists especially, use the hand-held cold laser devices to treat inflammation issues in the mouth or to heal ulcerations. Your GP may also use PBM to treat inflammation caused by chronic autoimmune diseases such as arthritis.
Is PBM Therapy Right for Inflammation?
LLLT and PBM therapy is growing fast in traditional medical practices all over the world. It is mostly used as an alternative or complementary therapy. Under a trained practitioner, PBM is safe and FDA-approved. Additional advantages are it doesn’t have any side effects, it’s painless, it’s non-invasive, and has no need for other preparation or medication. Apart from treating inflammation, some other mainstream uses and main LLLT benefits include:
- Improved Tissue Regeneration
- Effective Pain Relief
- Reduced obesity
- Reduced muscle fatigue
- Restored joint mobility
- Improved muscle strength
On the downside, LLLT devices marketed for home use may make bold unsubstantiated claims on what they can do. While there is adequate past and ongoing research into NovoTHOR and PBM therapy, there may not be enough research or any clinical testing on the efficacy of the various laser devices marketed for home use.
