Hyaluronic acid gel that adds volume today, or a biostimulator that builds your own collagen over months. Two different answers to what looks like the same question.

Multi-area treatment plan
New clients save 15% on your first treatment.
Filler is priced per syringe and how many you need depends on the area and on how much volume has been lost, which is why every figure here is a starting price. Most first-time patients use one to two syringes. Building across appointments generally gives a better result than one large session.

Dermal fillers · Cheeks and mid-face
In short
Dermal fillers restore volume and contour to the face. Hyaluronic acid fillers such as Juvederm and Restylane are gels that add volume immediately and are reversible. Biostimulators such as Sculptra and Radiesse work differently: they prompt your own body to produce collagen, so the result builds over months and is not reversible. Which suits you depends on whether you want volume now or structure over time.
Most people booking filler have not been told there are two entirely different things on the menu. Hyaluronic acid gel is a filler in the literal sense: it occupies space, so you see the result the moment it is placed, and it can be dissolved if you dislike it. Sculptra is not a filler at all. It is a biostimulator that irritates your tissue just enough to prompt collagen production, so nothing much happens for weeks and the result arrives over months. It cannot be undone. Neither is better. They answer different questions, and choosing correctly matters more than which brand is in the syringe.
Units and cost
Answering the question people actually search: how long do fillers last.
| Area | Typical units | Cost |
|---|---|---|
| Lips | 6 to 12 months | from $700 per syringe |
| Nasolabial folds | 9 to 12 months | from $700 per syringe |
| Marionette lines | 9 to 12 months | from $700 per syringe |
| Cheeks and mid-face | 12 to 24 months | from $900 per syringe |
| Jawline | 12 to 18 months | from $900 per syringe |
| Under-eye (tear trough) | 9 to 18 months | from $900 per syringe |
| Temples and hands | 12 to 18 months | from $900 per syringe |
| Sculptra | Up to 2 years | from $900 per vial |
| Radiesse | 12 to 18 months | from $900 per syringe |
| Skinvive | About 6 months | $350 |
Duration varies by product, by area and by person. Filler in a mobile area like the lips breaks down faster than filler in a static area like the cheek, which is why the same syringe lasts different lengths of time in different places.

How it works
Two mechanisms, and why the timelines are so different.
Hyaluronic acid is a sugar molecule your body already produces, which binds water and holds volume. Injected as a cross-linked gel it occupies space immediately, and because your body has an enzyme that breaks it down, it can be dissolved on purpose with hyaluronidase.
Biostimulators work by provoking rather than filling. Poly-L-lactic acid (Sculptra) and calcium hydroxylapatite (Radiesse) trigger a controlled response that lays down new collagen around the particles over weeks and months.
That is why HA is judged two weeks after treatment and Sculptra is judged at three months, and why one is reversible and the other is not.
Which product
The comparison people search for most, answered properly.

Starts working: Immediate, settles in 2 weeks. Lasts: 6 months to 2 years. Adds volume the moment it is placed, so you see the result before you leave. Dissolvable with hyaluronidase, which makes it the low-risk choice for anyone who has not had filler before. From $700 a syringe.
Starts working: 6 to 12 weeks. Lasts: Up to 2 years. A biostimulator, not a filler. Prompts your own collagen, so the change is gradual and looks like you rather than like treatment. Needs a series, usually three sessions, and CANNOT be dissolved. Best for overall facial volume loss rather than one specific line. From $900.
Starts working: Immediate, then builds. Lasts: 12 to 18 months. Sits between the two: it adds volume on the day like a filler and stimulates collagen like Sculptra. Also not reversible. Often chosen for jawline and hands. From $900.
Starts working: 2 to 4 weeks. Lasts: About 6 months. Not a volumiser at all. Microdroplets of HA that improve skin smoothness and hydration without changing your shape. $350, and the right answer when the complaint is skin quality rather than lost volume.
Good to know
And the questions people are usually too polite to ask.

Cheeks and mid-face hollow with age. Replacing that support does more for a tired-looking face than treating any individual line.
Filler along the jaw border restores an edge that softens over time, without treating the skin at all.
Nasolabial folds and marionette lines, the classic first request.
Technically difficult and best done conservatively. This is an advanced area for good reason and not every injector should attempt it.
Skinvive hydrates and smooths without changing your shape, at $350.
HA filler is reversible. Sculptra and Radiesse are not, which is precisely why the choice is worth understanding before you make it.
It comes from too much product placed too superficially over too many visits. Building gradually and stopping at the right point is a technique decision, not a product one.
Aftercare
Swelling first, the real result later.

Swelling and possibly bruising at injection points. Ice gently, sleep elevated, and do not judge anything yet.
Swelling peaks then drops. Lips swell more than anywhere else.
HA filler has fully settled. This is the earliest sensible point to assess the result or plan a top-up.
Strenuous exercise, alcohol and heat for 24 hours. Blood thinners and fish oil beforehand if your prescriber agrees, to limit bruising.
Collagen builds gradually. Nothing dramatic happens early and that is the treatment working as designed.
Two weeks minimum for HA, longer for a Sculptra series. Never the same week.
Filler softens gradually rather than vanishing. Most patients top up before it has fully gone.

Frequently asked
Dermal fillers are injectable gels, typically made from hyaluronic acid (HA), that restore volume, smooth wrinkles, and enhance facial contours. HA is a naturally occurring substance in your skin that attracts and retains moisture. When injected, fillers add immediate volume while also stimulating your body’s natural collagen production for long-lasting improvements.
Results typically last 6-18 months depending on the type of filler used, treatment area, and individual metabolism. Lip fillers generally last 6-9 months, while cheek and jawline fillers can last 12-18 months. Biostimulatory fillers like Sculptra can last up to 2 years as they stimulate your own collagen production. Regular maintenance treatments can help extend your results. Is the treatment painful?
Most patients describe the sensation as mild pressure with minimal discomfort. We apply topical numbing cream before treatment, and most fillers contain lidocaine for added comfort. Bruising and swelling are possible but typically mild and resolve within 1-2 weeks. Using cannula technique reduces bruising significantly. We recommend avoiding blood thinners and alcohol before treatment to minimize bruising risk.
The number of syringes depends on your goals and treatment areas. Subtle lip enhancement may require just 0.5-1 syringe, while cheek volumization typically needs 1-2 syringes per side. Full-face rejuvenation may require 3-6 syringes. During your consultation, our injectors will assess your needs and recommend the appropriate amount for natural-looking results.
Both Juvederm and Restylane are hyaluronic acid fillers but differ in formulation and texture. Juvederm tends to be smoother and more malleable, while Restylane has more cohesive gel properties. RHA fillers are designed to move naturally with facial expressions. Sculptra and Radiesse are biostimulators that stimulate collagen. Our injectors will recommend the best product for each treatment area and your specific goals.
Yes! One major advantage of hyaluronic acid fillers is that they can be dissolved using an enzyme called hyaluronidase. If you’re unhappy with your results or experience any complications, the filler can be safely dissolved within minutes. This reversibility provides peace of mind, especially for first-time patients. Note that Sculptra and Radiesse are not reversible.
Dermal fillers are ideal for adults who want to restore lost volume, smooth wrinkles, or enhance facial features without surgery. They’re popular among those noticing early signs of aging, people wanting lip enhancement at any age, and anyone seeking improved facial balance and contours. Our injectors can help determine if fillers are right for your specific aesthetic goals.
Most patients return for maintenance every 6-12 months, depending on the treatment area and filler type. Many find that with regular maintenance, they need less filler over time as the treatments stimulate natural collagen production. Our team will create a personalized maintenance schedule to help you maintain your results efficiently and cost-effectively. Individual results may vary. What Megan does
Juvederm, Restylane, Skinvive, Sculptra and Radiesse are all here. The recommendation is not shaped by what happens to be in the fridge.
We start most patients on hyaluronic acid precisely because it dissolves. Irreversible products are a deliberate choice, made knowingly.
Adding gradually gives a better result than one large session, and lets you stop at the point you like rather than past it.
Under-eye and jawline work in particular demands anatomical knowledge. Every injection is placed by a licensed provider.
It comes from technique and volume, not from brand. We would rather do less and have you come back.
Standardised training and the same protocols in every location.
