The key difference between Morpheus8 and traditional microneedling lies in the addition of radiofrequency (RF) energy in Morpheus8, which enhances the effectiveness of the treatment by targeting deeper layers of the skin. Morpheus8 combines microneedling with RF energy. The needles penetrate the skin and deliver heat to the dermis, stimulating collagen production and remodeling tissue at a deeper level. Traditional microneedling uses fine needles to create controlled micro-injuries in the skin’s surface, stimulating the body’s natural healing response and collagen production.
While Morpheus8 is a device-based treatment combining microneedling and radiofrequency (RF) energy, PRP is a biologic treatment that uses the patient’s own blood to promote healing and rejuvenation. In some cases, Morephus8 and PRP can be combined to further enhance outcomes.

To begin your Morpheus8 treatment, your practitioner will cleanse the skin and apply a topical numbing cream to help minimize any discomfort. The Morpheus8 device will then be applied to the treatment areas. This device is equipped with many microneedles that penetrate the skin to a depth selected by the provider. RF energy is also delivered through the needles, stimulating collagen and elastin production. Treatment typically takes 3-60 minutes to complete, depending on the treatment area size and the concerns being treated.
Immediately following treatment, patients may experience mild redness and swelling. Downtime is minimal, with redness subsiding within 1-3 days. Peeling or flaking may occur as the skin heals.
